Tip #1 of our 10 Tips to Recruit Franchisees is to Follow Up Promptly.
First impressions make quite a big impact on potential franchisees’ decisions about a franchise opportunity. Their worry is that if you aren’t able to respond to them quickly and provide relevant information when they are a potential sales lead for you, then you might also fail to do that to potential customers for their business or when they need your support as a franchisee.
The franchisors that seem to make the best impressions – and subsequently recruit more franchisees – follow up on an enquiry within 1-2 days maximum. They then allow the enquirer to speak to a real-life human as early in the stage as possible, following up with information packs in the post and prospectuses by email. This leaves the enquirer with the impression that the business is efficient and effective right from the start.
Don’t underestimate the importance of this. We have worked with individuals who have been a fantastic fit for a franchise opportunity who have decided against it purely based on the bad taste that the business left them during the first point of contact. It seems like a simple set of steps, but you’d be amazed at how few franchisors get this right.
We strongly encourage you yo put the effort in here and you will see returns.
