Tameside Resident Launches Franchise after 4 years Job Seeking

DDave Keogh, 62 living within Tameside, Greater Manchester decided to choose supported self-employment after finding frustration with the job market.

His journey started after discovering a leaflet at Hyde JCP, it continued with workshops at Tameside Library and Manchester. Dave travelled the UK to see opportunities, attended discovery days and was successful in being awarded £10,000 from the FranchisingWorks Licence Fund.

He accessed the full franchise business start up support programme from FranchisingWorks and was very diligent at every stage from assessing his personal circumstances to writing a robust business plan that was awarded investment of a further £10,000.

FranchisingWorks Business Advisor Ben Rogers comments:

“Dave quickly grasped franchising, demonstrating sound business acumen but more importantly he showed resilience and took a high energy approach which any one working with or around him will quickly notice – a great candidate who will do well.”

Dave Keogh launched his No Letting Go Inventory Management franchise in February 2015 and says:

“I was applying for positions and it was while I was in the Job Centre that I came across a leaflet about FranchisingWorks, an organisation that helps people raise finance to start a franchise business. I went along to some of the seminars and looked at the kinds of opportunities that were available. No Letting Go was in my top three, given my connections and interest in property and once I learned more about the brand and saw the potential for business in the north-west it was a no-brainer. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”
